Twelve Days of Christmas

teacupMerry Christmas to you all. Remember, it’s not over. There are twelve days of Christmas.

Now that I am back home for a while, there’s time to think about ways to improve what we do. We want to offer more to our readers, students, and teachers. While I have not reached any final conclusions, I’m pretty sure that finding ways to communicate more directly and more often is close to the top of the list.

How often I wish you all could be with me on my tours for Smithsonian Journeys. We travel through regions bursting with historical and artistic richness. But since most of you can’t drop everything and jump on a plane with me, maybe I can bring more of these journeys to you on video.

Of course, it’s great to share things on location in Poland or Switzerland. But why not share more ideas from our new place in North Carolina? So I’m starting a new series of video clips to post on our Professor Carol website, on Facebook, and on YouTube.

Please let me know what you think. Send me your suggestions for topics you might enjoy or find useful. Here is my first “musing.”

  1. Thank you, Professor Carol. I sang the Twelve Days of Christmas as a child but it wasn’t until I was received into full communion in the Catholic Church back in 2001 that I saw the beauty and fullness of this liturgical season. It’s a tradition that we are passing on to our children.
