hank-reynoldsHank Reynolds spends his days in the trenches at Professor Carol as a writer and course developer. His responsibilities, though not always his expertise, also extend to the filming and design of the company’s products and dealing with the frustrations of technology. He has been married for over 25 years to the primary force behind this venture and accepts occasionally being referred to as  “Mr. Professor Carol.”

Hank is a music theorist and lawyer. He spent much of his professional career practicing law in Dallas with a specialization in intellectual property and business litigation. He also earned his Doctor of Philosophy in Music Theory at the University of Kansas. He authored Music Analysis for Expert Testimony in Copyright Infringement Litigation (Ann Arbor: UMI 1991), and “Selle v. Gibb and the Forensic Analysis of Plagiarism,” 32 College Music Symposium 55 (1992). More recently, he wrote The Basics of Copyright: An Entertaining Guide for the Non-Lawyer (2019).

In addition to his contributions to Carol’s courses, he created his own course on The Rudiments of Music Theory published on this site and writes a weekly series known as the Friday Performance Picks.
