You know how they say the greatest people are always the nicest! Well, here’s a good example. Listen to the master American composer and conductor Frank Ticheli as he reveals the concept behind Bash, his new piece that has its World Premiere tomorrow night at The Dallas Winds. Bash will sound again at one of the biggest bashes of all: the rollicking Midwest Clinic that brings together our nation’s bands and wind ensembles every year in Chicago.
Ticheli talks about what it was like to be a composer during the COVID lockdown and the need to create joy in music. Plus, he speaks lovingly of his time growing up in the music scene in Texas, and working with the great Howard Dunn.
