Professor Carol also gave a presentation this week on Engelbert Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel as part of our ongoing series A Night at the Opera. That recording is also available (scroll down). As explained, this is not just a children’s work, but a beautifully crafted Romantic opera that is entirely appropriate for children and adults.

A Sprint Through Russian History

sprintThere is still time to sign up for A Sprint Through Russian History scheduled for Tuesday, August 18, at 8:00 p.m. EDT. This webinar (with a nominal fee of $5) is the first in a series of “sprints” through history to be presented over the next year. “Sprints” seemed like a particularly apt term for Professor Carol’s fast-paced, high-energy approach. You may be trying to catch your breath at the end, but you will have a good high-level view of the forces driving this colorful history.

Look for more to come in all of these series as well as the new series on Hymn Workshops.
