It has been a while since we interviewed Groucho the singing parrot, and it’s about time for a reprise. Some things just get better with age.
Groucho was not very happy the day of this interview. He bit a chunk out of the microphone windscreen (I still use that windscreen and think of Groucho every time), and then he literally walked off the set. Performers can be cantankerous.
But I had interviewed Groucho before when he was in a great mood, hamming it up and hogging the microphone. That podcast interview, also with handler Cari Clements, is here.
So, all in all, I’d say Groucho is about as much fun as a bird can be, and he’s welcome back on my program any time he wants to come.
